As consumer demand shifts toward premium, functional, and experience-driven dairy products, manufacturers are searching for technologies that can help them innovate faster, extend shelf life, and launch more sophisticated products with confidence.

MEPEQ is bringing advanced aseptic filling technology from VMS to the region, enabling dairy manufacturers to transform ambitious product concepts into scalable commercial realities.

The technology consists of a highly flexible and modular linear aseptic filling solution designed specifically for high-value dairy and food applications that require ultra-clean processing, multiple-layer filling capabilities, and maximum production adaptability.

From layered yogurts and protein desserts to fruit-bottom cups, tiramisu-style applications, and functional dairy snacks, the market is rapidly evolving toward products that combine convenience, nutrition, premium quality, and visual appeal.

The VMS aseptic filling machine was developed to solve the challenge of complex recipes, sensitive ingredients, multiple textures, and short shelf lives.

The advanced linear aseptic technology accurately fills multiple product layers within the same container while maintaining aseptic or ultra-clean production conditions and preserving product integrity throughout the process.

By minimizing contamination risks and maintaining controlled hygienic conditions throughout production, the freshness and shelf life of sensitive dairy products is extended and the same taste, texture, and sensory experience is maintained.

For manufacturers, this translates into reduced product waste, greater distribution flexibility, improved export potential, higher production returns, and stronger product consistency.

One of the defining strengths of the VMS aseptic filling platform is its modular and highly flexible engineering. The technology can accommodate:

  • Multiple product layers and combinations
  • Different product viscosities and textures
  • Plastic and glass containers
  • Bottles, jars, cups, and various packaging formats
  • Future production expansions and evolving market needs

From a design perspective, the VMS CUPLine aseptic filling system features a robust, single-piece machine tunnel and a modular architecture that supports different packaging formats and production requirements. This flexibility makes it particularly suitable for dairy manufacturers operating diverse product portfolios and seeking scalable, future-ready production lines.

A key advantage of the system is its flexible sterilization capability, enabling adaptation across different packaging materials while maintaining up to Log6 disinfection performance

The CUPLine model is designed for prefabricated cups with diameters up to 115 mm and heights up to 160 mm, offering a fully servo-driven, continuous-motion filling system engineered for both high-performance output and gentle product handling, even with low-viscosity dairy products such as drinking yogurts, desserts, and liquid dairy formulations with particulate content.

At its core, CUPLine delivers aseptic filling at up to Log6 sterility assurance levels, ensuring maximum product safety for sensitive dairy applications. The system integrates Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) and Sterilizing-in-Place (SIP) technologies, enabling fully controlled, repeatable hygiene cycles without dismantling the machine, and thus significantly reducing downtime while ensuring consistent compliance with the highest food safety standards.

Technologies engineered to cater for multiple types, shapes, heights, and diameters of cups.
To maintain a fully controlled sterile environment, the system operates within a completely enclosed machine “tunnel,” where sterile air is selectively introduced and air exchange with the external environment is minimized to nearly zero. This controlled architecture ensures that contamination risks are significantly reduced while exceeding standard MAC values for cleanroom operation.

All product contact areas are sterilized using saturated steam at 143°C, while the sterile tunnel is disinfected with hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). Packaging materials are also treated with H₂O₂, achieving a residual peroxide level of less than 0.5 ppm while maintaining Log6 sterility performance, an important benchmark for high-value dairy production lines.

The CUPLine system is further distinguished by its seal-less piston filler technology, ensuring high filling accuracy, minimal wear, and long-term operational stability. Its cantilevered servo drives are fully enclosed within the sterile zone, while remaining easily accessible for maintenance, improving serviceability without compromising hygiene integrity.

In addition, the CUPLine system integrates an advanced control package that enables remote monitoring and operation via smartphone or tablet, supporting smarter production oversight, reduced response times, and improved operational transparency across facilities.
